Alan Wayne Sumwalt

June 16, 1952 - April 12, 2020

"it’s my job to help you bring your own wisdom, confidence, and courage to face and resolve whatever life throws at you"

We need a new "tab" or section.  Let's call it "Expertise".

This will be a list of about 10 problem areas where I have considerable experience or special training. Later I will add paragraphs of descriptions about these problem areas - but I don't have all of those written yet.  So for now, create the list and the option for me to add more detail later?

Here's the list so far:  alcohol & drug use, anxiety, childhood abuse and neglect, couples in crisis, depression, dysfunctional & alcoholic families, divorce, grief & loss, parent-child reunification, remarried or blended families, trauma recovery.

A Message from Alan’s Family

We are heartbroken by Alan’s unexpected death from a sudden cardiac event on Sunday, April 12, 2020. We have tried to contact as many of his clients, colleagues, and friends as we could, but know that we may not have reached everyone.

Alan was a beloved husband, father, friend, colleague and a trusted therapist. His kindness, compassion and gentle nature will be deeply missed.

A celebration of his life will be held in the future when friends and family may gather together. You are welcome to visit the Pagenkopf Funeral Home website for more information. Pagenkopf Funeral Home
